Renewable energy is found in naturally occurring processes such as solar, wind, ocean, hydroelectric power, biomass, geothermal sources, and biofuels and hydrogen.
Coal, Oil and Natural Gas are renewable energy sources. They are also called fossil fuels as they are the products of plants that lived thousands of years ago. Mineral fuels are the most widely used energy sources today. India is one of the largest producers and consumers of coal in the world, with an estimated 344.02 billion tonnes of storage (as of 2020). Coal provides about 51.9% of the country's total energy production through commercial sources. Estimates of India's crude oil by 2020 stood at 603.37 million tons. The burning of minerals creates a great amount of environmental pollution.
